Are you trying to create a float account for an employee whose email is already connected to another Float account?
A single email can only be connected to one Float account. All duplicates will respond with an Error message. Think of your email as your unique User Name! There can only be one.
We understand some people need multiple Float accounts under the same email, so we created a workaround to allow you to create multiple accounts for the same email!
What does this error look like...?
John.doe@yourbusiness.com already has a Float account but needs a new one for a different business, create an alias!
An "alias" email works the same as the email address your user uses! Before the "@" in the email address, simply add a "+" sign and an extension to the email! This alias is not a new email, this is just a unique username for the user within Float!
John.doe+1@yourbusiness.com
By adding a "+1" to the email address of your user for account creation, it creates a new account under a "unique" username but will function the same as the user's original email!
Alias Email Address FAQ's
✅ Alias emails do allow admins to create multiple Float accounts for the same person without needing a new email address!
✅ Alias emails do allow Accountants to have any different Float accounts over any different businesses (Make sure to ask your accountant if they already have a Float account before creating one)
❌ Alias emails don't create a new email address for a user.
❌ Since the Alias is the unique user name for the user's new Float account, please make sure users always sign in under the appropriate email address "user name" to access the correct account.
