Your billing address is validated by merchants for most online purchases and some physical world purchases, like gas stations validating your postal code at the pump. Keeping your billing address up to date is important to prevent unexpected declines.
The billing address is found on the card details page of the Float card you are using for payment.
You can update your billing address for contacting Float support if something has changed or you see a mistake.
Which address should I use?
For CAD Float cards, the billing address for your cards is your Canadian business address on file with Float.
For USD Float cards, we give customers the option to choose from three options for their US billing address:
- Your Canadian business address
- Your US business address
- A Float-provided virtual US address
We offer the third option to customers who do not have a physical presence in the USA to help with acceptance rates. Many physical merchants, such as gas stations or transit hubs, will ask for a ZIP code when making purchases. By offering a virtual address to customers, we unlock the ability to spend at these merchants. If you use our virtual address, you should consult with your local finance and tax team to ensure this approach makes sense.
